If you've made it this far then I imagine you already know who we are and what we do, but just in case here's a quick rundown: The Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) is a group of some of the BEST independent record stores in the country. To put it simply, we organize retail-marketing programs for our 44 independent record store members nationwide. We have a wide array of marketing programs that have been proven effective - everything from simple P&P programs to a complex Recommends program, covering every facet of advertising we have available - but if you have something else in mind then please contact us... we're always up for a creative challenge!

           CIMS was founded in 1995 and has continued to grow and expand in spite of a tough economic market and surmounting industry challenges. CIMS opened ThinkIndie Distribution in 2002 as a small operation distributing exclusive content to indie store coalitions. ThinkIndie has grown to a much larger operation these days with a 5000 square foot warehouse distributing exclusives to over 750 independent record stores and one-stops nationwide (even internationally on select releases).
