CIMS Weekly Chart : Week Ending 4/19/15- 2015 RSD Wrap Up

Greetings,

Apologies for the late charts this week. We were having some email issues trying to get you all of this RSD info.

Every year in mid-April music store owners get real nervous. Can we find ways to grow Record Store Day beyond what we did last year? How can we get better, not only at stocking the correct quantity of releases, but at growing the presence of the day through our promotional efforts? Then we go to work, and year after year our efforts have paid off. Most stores now involve the entire weekend in the celebration and enlist an untold number of other independent businesses and non-profits in the celebration. This is the real Record Store Day, a celebration of independence. I know this sounds obvious, but it’s the truth. As far as impact on the industry and the still-growing vinyl business, the numbers speak for themselves and boy are they speaking. I’m proud of all our hard work, the Record Store Day organization, and especially the stores who go above and beyond each year. Nice going everyone. Here's a link to the CIMS wrap-up for Record Store Day 2015, enjoy.
