CIMS Weekly Chart: Week Ending 10/7/16

Week Ending 10/7/2016

Greetings,

We've had a couple of special CIMS stores' anniversaries in the last month or so and I thought I would share some information about them. No two stores in our group are the same and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Salzer’s Records in Ventura celebrated fifty years in the music business this year. I’ve attached a story the local paper ran on the store and on Jim’s illustrious career. Congratulations Nancy and Jim. https://www.vcreporter.com/2016/08/24/salzers-records-still-funky-after-all-these-years/

Indy CD & Vinyl in Indianapolis is about to celebrate its 15th Anniversary in a few days. I’ve attached their press release about the event. Congratulations Andy and Annie.

CIMS Selections
Here's what the CIMS staffers are fancying this week:

Russell Cothran - ThinkIndie Sales & Marketing
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds- Skeleton Tree (Bad Seed Ltd.)

Even though they had started recording Skeleton Tree before the tragic death of his son, everything about the record is hauntingly beautiful. For any of us that has experienced great loss, you feel the pain and grief with every note, it haunts your soul. Yet, with each listen, there is something that soothes those deep, dark places within us & gives a slight will of hope that we’ll make it out the other side.
