CIMS Weekly Chart: Week Ending 10/28/16

Week Ending 10/28/2016

I just returned from three days of CIMS Board meetings in Las Vegas and during the discussions, I was struck by the remarkability of the group of people sitting at the table and how they represent hundreds more remarkable people who, despite the daily challenges thrown at them by the industry, still love what they do. They still believe in music as the highest art form, capable of breaking down barriers and changing lives. These are hard-working people who love and provide for their employees, pay their local taxes to support their communities, support local non-profits and countless local musicians. These are folks who spend their family vacations hunting down other independent music stores and shopping and dining almost exclusively at other independently-owned businesses. They care about the experience. They could care less about streaming services that don’t fully support artists and believe that corporations who make their money on the backs of artists should pay up and put the focus on the art, not just on the commerce.

I am proud to stand with our board members and with all of our exceptional CIMS stores.
