CIMS Weekly Chart
Week Ending 1/20/2017
A very long election cycle made me into a news junky. I feel exhausted by the need to keep up, but I know that I need to more than ever. Beyond that, I feel compelled to listen to protest music that I grew up on during the Sixties. I find it comforting in a strange way. Maybe it’s because we have all been here before, but Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Richard Farina, Joan Baez, Woody Guthrie, Buffy Saint-Marie, Tom Paxton, Country Joe McDonald, Eric Von Schmidt, and Dave Van Ronk, just to name a few, seem all the more relevant right now. Some things, it seems, never change.

I missed this late last year when it came out. It was a pleasant surprise finding this record and I dig the story, theme, etc. I haven’t listened to anything rootsy or Americana in a very long time and this was a great reintroduction.
