CIMS Weekly Chart: Week Ending 4/14/17

Week Ending 4/14/2017

Just a short note today because, like the rest of the record store owners around the globe, I’m buried. I hope you all have a great Record Store Day. A big thanks and congratulations to everyone who had a role in getting us to this historic 10th RSD. Don’t forget to have some fun.

CIMS Selections
Here's what the CIMS staffers are fancying this week:

Blake Wimberly - CIMS/ThinkIndie Space Age Whiz Kid
Clark- Death Peak (Warp)

Can't say enough good things about this album. It has been on repeat for a solid three weeks. From start to finish one of my favorite albums of recent memory to travel through...over and over again. Such a strong sequencing of tracks/ideas, each of which containing multiple movements, constantly evolving. From ecstatic warehouse rave to seemingly inescapable fits of violence, all balanced with keenly placed respites and shifts, Death Peak maintains a cohesive and strange beauty...which has now wormed its way into Clark's live show.

Scott Register - ThinkIndie A&R
Future Islands- The Far Field (4AD)
