CIMS Weekly Chart: Week Ending 5/5/17

CIMS Weekly Chart

Week Ending 5/5/2017

Next week, CIMS, DORS and AIMS will be conducting meetings at the Music Biz Convention in Nashville. There is nothing new about that, but there is something new about what is happening at the convention this year. Our very own Terry Currier from Music Millennium in Portland will be receiving the Independent Spirit Award from the organization.

I’ve known Terry for many years, before there was a CIMS or a Record Store Day, when Music Biz was still called NARM. In all those years, I have never known anyone more committed to the art of music than Terry. He lives and breathes everything to do with artists — promoting, selling, preserving and especially experiencing great music. I don’t know anybody who goes to more shows, works on more committees to help music events or gives more of himself than Terry.

I think I can speak for everyone Terry knows — and he knows everybody in this business — that he is honestly a real music man. The Independent Spirit Award is a high compliment and richly deserved. Bravo Terry Currier, congratulations.

Rogue & Jaye- Pent Up (Tropicali)

Rogue Wave's Zach Schwartz and Courtney Jaye teamed up to write some songs and the result is something magical. Pent Up is the sound of pure chemistry. Do your ears and soul a favor.
