Well, the early reports from the stores were just short of spectacular. Record Store Day 2018 was a grand success with many of the CIMS stores reporting record days, and that means a lot from stores, some of which are between 25 and 47 years old. The list was strong, the execution was nearly flawless, and the stores have come to really understand what it takes to make the day a real success. It seems after 11 years everyone is in a good groove about how this holiday is supposed to work--not that I’m diminishing the amount of work it takes because many of us are about to take a few days off just to recover.
